Video Counting Technology based linux binocular bus people counter GPRS
There are many different passenger counting technologies on the market. Some of them are based on optical recognition, when others again use infrared technology. Which one is better, has been debated for quite some time. From the operator perspective, the main questions should be, before deciding the technology:
- How high should the accuracy be?
- What other statistical functions do I need, except just basic passenger counting?
Let’s look at these questions one-by-one, and understand what is behind them, and how can they be solved.
How high should the accuracy be?
As said before, there are many different passenger counting technologies on the market. With some cheap devices you can reach an accuracy of around 60%, but then you need to accept that only basic understanding of passenger behaviour can be seen. With the newest designs, you can have an accuracy of over 95%! With this accuracy you understand much more about passenger flow and behaviour.
What other statistical functions you might need?
With an accurate device, the collected data can be trusted. If the collected data includes many different parameters (like number of passengers in/out at stations, line #, time stamps, the amount of time from door opening to closing/door etc.), then it is quite easy to start to analyse the big picture, and start to make conclusions how to fine-tune certain areas.
1. Main Unit
MDVR Recorder&Counter Processor, Mounted at the bottom of seat or ceiling of bus, Record video, process and calculate the counting data, send to HDD card storage or tranfer the video&counting data to server through 3g.
2. Binocular Camera
1. Is it working good in low temperature, like -25 degree in winter, can be SD cards or SSD ?
Reply:For such temperature, yes, you can use SSD instead of HDD, our device supports SSD. When the device is working, it is with heating by itself, even in minus 25 degress, the device's tempature will be higher than such temperature, so this is no problem.
2. Have You 3/4G communication (in last attachment described only 2G)?
Reply:We actually have 3 models for our counter. 1st model VPC-A is a basic counter, only supporting SD card storage,GPS, RS232/485. 2nd model VPC-B is a GPRS counter, it supports GPRS wireless transmission(2G), with SD card storage. 3rd model VPC-C is a 4ch recording DVR with counter kit, it supports 3G/4G(optional), GPS, WIFI(optional), HDD/SD card storage etc features. Please find attached file to make sure the 3 models.
